DESIGN
Special Equipment for Processing or Assembling a Product We recommend you first search for existing "off the shelf" equipment, or such equipment which can be modified to suit your needs. This is because frankly, it tends to be very expensive to start with a "blank sheet of paper" to design and build a single piece of equipment for a special purpose. On the other hand, some special equipment can be less expensive. For example, instead of buying a general purpose robot arm (which could do a variety of tasks) to oscillate a salt shaker over a moving conveyor belt of chicken legs, ask Jensen R&D Corporation to design and build a specially-designed vibrating salt dispenser. Directed at the exact task, it can cost less. Very often, "low tech" tooling, which is manual or semi-automatic is the optimal choice. This can be as simple as designing special fixtures which hold the product in position while another task is performed. Special Devices or Instrumentation We have experience sourcing a wide variety of obscure and cost-effective components for your project. For example, if your device requires a gage to be purchased and added into its manufacture, we can instead research the physical principles and source fundamental elements to "build" the gage as an integral part, thus reducing your mass-production costs. Our specialty is designing a device which advances the state-of-the-art over your competition.
